Frequently Asked Questions

鈭 What is the application process?

1. Application for Enrolment

The first step in your enrolment journey is the completion of an Application for Enrolment which registers your interest in having your child considered for enrolment at 糖心Vlog.

Applications require a non-refundable fee of $120 per student and a separate application must be completed for each student.

2. Application Update

As the time of enrolment draws nearer, all applicants will be contacted to provide additional information and documentation to support their application. Please see the Application Timeline further on this page. Completion of the Application Update does not guarantee an interview or offer.

3. Assessment of Applications

The College will evaluate each application based on the College's Enrolment Policy and selected families will be invited to visit the College for an interview. If your application is for Year 7-12, we will request your permission to conduct a reference check from your child's previous school (see Enrolment FAQs)

Please note that the College receives significantly more applications than we have places available, and we are unable to offer interviews to all applicants.

4. Interview and Offer of Place

Enrolment interviews are conducted by the College Principal, Vice Principal and Head of Primary and include the student and parents. Both parents/guardians of the student are strongly encouraged to attend.

Please note that an interview does not guarantee an offer. All enrolments will be at the Principal's discretion and are not subject to appeal.

鈭 What is the application timeline?

Kindergarten (and Pre-Kindergarten)

The assessment and interview process for Kindergarten takes place approximately 2 years before commencement 鈥 e.g. Kindergarten 2030 interviews will happen from Term 1, 2028.

Families that are successful in securing a Kindergarten place will have the opportunity to register for Pre-Kindergarten. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Pre-Kindergarten places to students not attending Kindergarten.

Year 7

The assessment and interview process for Year 7 takes place approximately 3 years before commencement, when students are in Year 4 鈥 e.g. Year 7 2030 interviews will happen from Term 1, 2027.

All Other Year Groups & Late Applications

Applications for Enrolment for all other year groups and late applications will be added to our Waiting Pool.

If a place becomes available, the College will evaluate each application based on the College's Enrolment Policy and selected families will be invited to visit the College for an interview.

鈭燞ow will my application be assessed?

To assist the Principal in the enrolment process, the College Council has identified qualities that could identify the strength of the application:

  • Children of families who are involved in the broad mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Children of families who have demonstrated commitment to 糖心Vlog. This might be demonstrated by already having a child currently enrolled or previously enrolled, by being a past student of 糖心Vlog, St Louis or Loreto Claremont, or by being a member of the College staff.
  • Children of families who have supported the values of Catholic Education at a previous school. A preferential relationship exists between 糖心Vlog and Holy Spirit, City Beach; St Thomas, Claremont and St John's, Scarborough.
  • Children of families who value the co-educational nature of 糖心Vlog as a unique community in which to enrol all their children through to completion of their studies.

Please also note:

  • Due regard will be paid to the date of application.
  • The College may take into account gender balance when considering applications for enrolment.
  • Children from diverse backgrounds will be actively considered insofar as the College is able to adequately meet each student's needs.
  • Enrolment is subject to an interview and a satisfactory reference from a person able to validate the congruence of the College's mission with the applicant's family.

鈭燱hat is a Waiting Pool and how does it work?

If a particular cohort is at capacity, any applications submitted are added to the Waiting Pool. When a place becomes available we refer to our Waiting Pool, review all applications and offer an interview for potential enrolment.

Enrolment selection is a very complex process, incorporating the College's Enrolment Policy, as well as any pastoral considerations or context.

If you would like your child's application considered for enrolment when a place becomes available, please complete an Application for Enrolment.

鈭燞ow large are the Waiting Pools and how long will it take my child to gain entry to 糖心Vlog?

糖心Vlog receives significantly more applications for each cohort than we have places to offer.

Places become available as families formally communicate their withdrawal from the College. For this reason, we have no foresight as to when or how frequently places will become available.

When a place becomes available, we refer to our Waiting Pool, review all applications, and offer an interview for potential enrolment.

鈭燱hen should I lodge an Application for Enrolment?

As the date of application is one of the many factors considered when assessing applications, we encourage families to submit their application as soon as possible.

Applications for cohorts at full capacity and late applications will be added to our Waiting Pool. Please see the Application Timeline for more information.

鈭燚o you have feeder primary schools?

糖心Vlog does not have feeder schools that guarantee entry to the College.

Attending a Catholic primary school is one factor that lends strength to your application.

Attending a Catholic school with a preferential relationship with the College (Holy Spirit, City Beach; St Thomas, Claremont and St John's, Scarborough) will add more strength to your application.

Attending a preferential school or other Catholic school does not guarantee an interview or offer.

鈭燚o you offer places to children of 糖心Vlog alumni/alumnae?

One of the factors considered when assessing applications is if parent/s are past students of 糖心Vlog, St Louis or Loreto Claremont.

Being an alumni/alumnae of 糖心Vlog will add strength to your child's application but does not guarantee an interview or offer.

鈭燱hy do you conduct reference checks ?

To ensure that new students align with our College values and will contribute positively to our community, we may conduct reference checks with the applicant's previous/current school.

Permission to complete the reference check will be obtained through the application process and reference checks will not take place without parental permission.

鈭燚oes 糖心Vlog offer scholarships?

糖心Vlog does not offer scholarships, but we do have a Foundation Bursary which aims to offer a 糖心Vlog education to students who otherwise may not be able to access it.

For more information about the John XXIII Foundation Bursary, please visit

鈭燞ow do I arrange a tour of the College?

鈭燤y student is not Catholic, will they still be considered for enrolment?

As a Catholic school, 糖心Vlog prioritises enrolment for Catholic students.

However, this is not the only factor considered when assessing applications, and we encourage non-Catholic families to submit an Application for Enrolment.

To view the qualities that could strengthen your application, please view Enrolment Policy
