Social Role of the Parents' Association
Building relationships
through the Parents' Association Liaisons (PALs)
PALs, along with the Primary and Secondary Convenors, are the community-building and the task-oriented arm of the Parents' Association. PALs are comprised of parent coordinator volunteers from each year group and is headed by a Primary Convenor (who oversees Kindy to Year 6) and a Secondary Convenor (who oversees Years 7-12) parent coordinators.
PAL Year Group Coordinators (K-12) are extremely important people within the Parents' Association and the wider ÌÇÐÄVlog community.
They coordinate College parents for social, pastoral and volunteer activities. A key objective is to develop and enrich our College's strong community spirit by creating opportunities for links within and between the parent year groups of the College.
Strong relationships between parents provide a great support network for the benefit of both parents and their children.
The PALs promote communication and connection between the College, the Parents' Association and the parent year group by:
- Organising social events for parents in their year levels;
- Personally welcoming new families who start at the College during non-intake years
- Coordinating parent volunteers for College organised events and services eg. Canteen, teacher appreciation morning teas, John XXIII Day, Mother's, Father's and Grandparent's Days, as well as;
- Pastoral Care Support Services (such as meals for College families in need)
Being a PAL is a fun and rewarding experience. It is a great opportunity to get to know other parents of your child's year group, motivated parents of other year groups, and to keep up to date with what is happening around the College.
If you are interested in becoming a PAL next year, please contact either the Secondary or Primary Convenor or one of the current PALs from your year group.
We are blessed with, and renowned for, a very active and welcoming parent body at ÌÇÐÄVlog. Please support your PALs by participating in social activities and volunteering to help when you can.
